Review of District 9 here. I've seen it once, I'm going to see it again this weekend. Fantastic movie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38xentcpCtE
District 9 looks great actually, I've read a review for it this morning and actually has a rather original twist of a storyline.
One thingthat's refreshing is that it's not set in New York! Or some other huge American city.
I've heard that most movies which are supposedly set in New York are actually filmed in Cananda of all places?! I think it comes down to cost though.
Toronto is often used as New York because it looks a lot like New York.
Vancouver is often used too for coastal US cities.
My favourite quote about Toronto though is Steve Martin on 30 Rock.
"Run away with me to Canada Liz Lemon, we could live in Toronto it's exactly like New York but without all the stuff".
9 film clip.
I saw Funny People earlier.
It did seem a bit over long but that aside Adam Sandler is great, there are lots of 'stand up' scenes to enjoy, some excellent and in some cases unexpected cameos (I loved Eminem in it) and some nice dark moments too although I'd have liked to have seen a non Hollywood version...
More Punch Drunk Love than his other films. Both are films I could happily watch again though.
Also saw a trailer for The Invention of Lying - I've been reading about it on Ricky's blog for what feels like forever and will definitely see it although it did look a bit contrived in the trailer. It will have to 'go some' to beat Ghost Town for me.

The premise of The Invention Of Lying sounds like it would make a good short story, but I'll be surprised if it's an idea that can sustain a feature film.
Exactly! Time will tell. By the way don't forget you owe me £50.
How quick could that joke get old?
And yay for Punch Drunk Love.
Punch Drunk Love is great, looking forward to seeing Funny People.
Who's excited about Sorority Row? It's gonna be a bobby dazzler I tell ya!
I'm so excited about 500 Days Of Summer. Not really a comedy, but I am completely in love with Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gorden-Levitt.
Just watched District 9. What a great film.
