Favourite Computer Game? Page 5

Yea I owned a Genesis when I was a kid but the Game Rental store in my town would ID you fore games like Mortal Kombat. And my parents kept informed about which games were too violent for kids.
So I had to sneak over to my friends houses who's parents didn't care to play. But then it was no fun because they had time to learn all the stupid combos.

Did anyone ever have/play on one of these CD-i. I've never met anyone else that's even heard of it. We had one, but trying to control games with a remote control was friggin' impossible. Then we got a control pad, but the games were too shit to even bother with.

Space Ace was good. BurnCycle looked "cool" but I knew it was just a shitty puzzler underneath. There was also a Spaceship game, where you'd blow up enemies and they'd explode, but not disappear, just hid behind the fire/smoke effect.

YES! They sold them in Canada. I bought one thinking it would just play on a DVD player. It didn't. I don't remember the name of the game I got but it was some cartoony looking Knight game. I should probably remember the name since the game was pretty popular and had a bunch of sequels.

Dragon's Lair? And Yay! A fellow CD-i-errr!

It was more used as a CD/VCD player, rather then a games console. Before DVD ever entered our conciseness.

There was a level in the spaceship that drove me nuts. Where you first got into the space ship and had to avoid being shot at? I don't think I ever got past it. Actually, I do remember more, but don't remember completing that bit? Must've got my brother to do it for me?

I could never slow the ship down to land I was still DEXTER! I never got far enough to become ACE.

It was just too f**king hard.

Controlled Reactions not actions. It's burnt onto my mind the first combo to clear the first screen.

Yes and it's the next screen that got me, or part 2 of it where you had to press up or left/right because the cheeky bastard would change angle every time.

Next screen was you climbing over the rocks for the ship So was prob that. Then the Ship bit....

Yeah, I was thinking of the ship bit. Where you had to fly through a tunnel or something and it would be and you'd go in a straight line and then up (or down) I could just not do that bit!

I got quite far in that game, I remember a bit where I was deep into the ship and facing the big blue dude and he kept trying to electrocute me. I think that's when I threw it out of the window, into a fire, into hell and got Satan to eat it and then shit it out again and burn it some more.
