According to this logic then Man Utd should consistently have the least red and yellow card offences in the league. Yet from 2002 on (as far back as I checked) Man Utd has always received more red or yellow offences than at least one of the other big 4. They're doing a poor job of flouting if that's the case.
And Chelsea would regularly mob the ref over decisions. Even after the FA decided to stop the practice.
Rio Ferdinand was banned for 8 months not 18. He was banned because he refused to show up for a drug test, which he was made aware of weeks in advance. It was a Maradonna level of arrogance and like all Man U players he thought he was above the law. That's why there was so much shock at the time from Man U fans when he was banned.

How many of those red and yellow cards were handed out at Old Trafford? And how many of those referees who handed out the cards worked again?
The Chelsea players who mobbed the ref should have been sent off. I don't know why players do it, I've yet to see a ref turn around after being mobbed and reverse a goal or sending off decision.

Christian Negouai forgot to attend a drugs test whilst at City in 2003 and received a £1000 fine.
Rio did the same in the same year and got an 8 month ban.
I can't believe as a Chelsea fan you are trying to take the moral high ground after what happened when you were knocked out by Barca and considering you have been banned from signing anyone until 2011 due to dodgy dealings.

Yes, in truth out of the top teams Arsenal and Manchester United are the only two really football clubs. They play beautiful attacking football and they sign genius plays based on the expertise of their managers they don't just throws wod loads of money at anyone who is half decent. I feel karma reflect this as Chelsea lack of purity has caught up with them and the same will happen to City.

Cantona and Ferdinand deserved their bans but it proves they aren't above the law. And in Ferdinand's case his punishment was FAR worse than a similar offender at another club.
I checked the stats for red and yellow cards disproving the common assertion they are favoured by refs. At least one top 4 club fared better with refs than United from 2002 onwards.
How many refs that handed out cards to United players never worked again? Err... None of them? I can't think of a single ref banned or finishing a career because of a performance with a Man United game. Yowser, if what you're saying is true wouldn't that be a near 100% turnover of referee's in the Premier League each season?
It pains me to say something nice about the Mancs, but - after quite a lot of web controversy and a 600+ response blog by Marina Hyde in The Guardian - the club seems prepared to deal with the Wenger paedophile chanting which has so burnished the reputation of their fans. So good for them. And shame on Amazon who only stopped selling a download of the chant after Arsenal made legal noises, having defended selling it on the grounds of freedom of speech. However, I no longer need to boycott them so can get on with ordering Marc's book. Every cloud...

When he was at West Ham he approached a colleague of mine in a bar - something I cannot blame him for as she's absolutely gorgeous. Anyway, she turned him down immediately so in desperation he threw in the "I'm a Premiership footballer" line to which she replied:

I once wound up Paul Ince's cousin (who was playing against me in a football match) so much about the Ince/Cantona court case, that he ended-up trying to punch me and got sent off.

He missed one drugs test as did Negouai.
One got a £1000 fine
One got an 8 month ban
He missed the same drugs test on more than one occasion!!
