It would be great if it was a writing team who were attached to actual production.

There is a strong possibilty that this is merely a group of people getting together to write something they hope to pitch somewhere.

This does happen a bit.

Which "this"? I think I know but you are usually a bit clearer than this, Marc!
Much pubbing today?

Ooh yes,

But probaly the words after the original 'this'

So thus:

'a group of people getting together to write something they hope to pitch somewhere.'

:)

He's not, he's getting quite cloudy and opaque in his old age! Gone is the old, pithy punmeister, and it's his place a windy waffler! :)

Hi Willie

Likewise. I asked for details but just got invited along. When an email starts 'Dear Writer' it makes one a little suspicious about being 'specially chosen'. They obviously want as many people as possible to turn up.

This is all it says on the website still:

Hmm. I may still go out of interest but a bit more information/ background would help. How about you?

JP

Think I'll go as I'm London based and like getting up early. Sometimes these things are useful for meeting people even if the thing isn't...a thing. (It's writing of this calibre that gets me addressed as a 'dear writer' in emails)

:D

I did write for more information and was told very nicely that they couldn't respond to questions by email from such a large group of writers. So that cleared that up.

But at least they're having a go and I assume they'll have had to pay out for the venue.

Now I'm wonderering if they'll be an 'entrance' fee at some point.

Oh dear, this site has made me far too cynical. I blame Marc P.

And is there an option clause? :P

Well...

apparently this is the man behind it:

I blame Barbara Cartland!

Some cynics are just pessimistic realists!

He seems like a fun guy. Uses a Mac I see, like a proper creative person. :|
