The Warriors. Which I believe is being remade by Tony Scott. :O

I love The Warriors. Hollywood is on a remake frenzy at the minute. I read that they are remaking The Bad Lieutenant with Nicholas Cage attempting to follow in Harvey Keitel's footsteps.

I recommend Narc starring Ray Liotta and Jason Patric, superbly gritty.

Beyond Kes and some of his TV films, I really don't have much time for his work.

'Cept Kes :D

He is a rather depressing director. I did a spoof version of a Mr Men special made by him about Little Miss Shop Lifter. :)

Hope and Glory was pretty good, if my memory is any good...

Yes, that was a bitter sweet war film.

Electra Glide In Blue (1973)

Do watch this if you've never seen it. One of the great "lost" films of the 70s, starring Robert Blake (in his pre-wife murdering days). Dark, brooding, funny, satirical. Brilliantly written, shot and directed. Rarely gets an outing on TV thesedays, though when it does it always seems to be shown on ITV late at night. Really worth seeking out.

Love that film :)

Not many people seem to have heard of A Bronx Tale, recommend that, if it's not already been mentioned. Good soundtrack too.

It was. (It wasn't by Ken Loach, but I presume that's not your point. ;) )

Love Bronx Tale as well. :) De Niro's directorial debut.

It's probably quite well known but Rita, Sue and Bob Too is very good.

:D It is!

Not many people seem to have heard of Something Wild, a surprisingly good and off-beat Jonathan Demme film. Ostensibly starting off as a comedy, it darkens halfway through to become almost a horror/thriller. Stars Jeff Daniels, Melanie Griffith and Ray Liotta.

The Man Who Would Be King - a rather forgotten, superior historical romp, starring Caine and Sean Connery. Great fun.

Oh, you bugger. I was going to name that one next. Yep. Great fun.

OMG, I remember watching that round my friend's house. Liotta was suitably pyschotic.
