The cube films are very good!
One rather forgotten British film which is showing (I believe) on either one of the Sky Movie Channels/TCM/Film 4 at the moment, is The Shooting Party. Set on the eve of the 1st World War, it follows a group of toffs at a country house preparing for a pheasant shoot. It stars James Mason in his last major screen performance.
Also, although I generally have a massive aversion to Peter Greenaway films, I watched The Draughtsman's Contract for the first time the other night. Very, very good.

Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer - a low budget film based on the activies of serial killer Henry Lee Lucas. No laughs or wimp-outs, this is pedal to the metal, balls to the wall grit. The UK version is uncut now, so you can enjoy everything as the director intended.
Cidade de Deus (aka City Of God) - This got a fair amount of publicity I suppose, but some may have missed it. Great film. City of God is based on a true story that takes place in the 60's where in the slums of Rio De Janeiro two boys growing up in the neighborhood take on different paths in life. The story is told through eyes of Buscape, a poor young fisherman's son who dreams of becoming a photographer one day. His story narrates the violence and corruption surrounding the city and the rise and fall of one of the city's most notorious boss'. Li'l Ze. As war wages on the streets Buscape's only way out of this violent life is to expose its brutality the world through his pictures. Along the way the lives of other are put into perspective as their stories intersect with the events that take place.
'Brick' was very good.

Cool. That little lad was, frankly, astonishing, in the film. He's the straight acting alternative to the kids in Outnumbered in terms of talent.

Twenty Four Seven starring Bob Hoskins. I remember this being rather good, but I haven't watched it in ages so... In a typical English working-class town, the juveniles have nothing more to do than hang around in gangs. One day, Alan Darcy, a highly motivated man with the same kind of youth experience, starts trying to get the young people off the street and into doing something they can believe in: Boxing.

One film I saw the other day I haven't seen in ages was The Phantom Tollbooth! I loved the book as a kid as well. It's made by Chuck Jones and stars Butch Patrick of Munsters fame. But when I mention it, people look at me like I'm mad! 
I'll also mention another Meadows work, 'A Room For Romeo Brass', it's great. I used to be in a 'band' named after that film. We were shit.
