Has anyone seen this film?
Stars Robert De Niro, Jerry Lewis, directed by Martin Scorsese.
Watched it the other night, thought it was fantastic. My favourite scene was when De Niro's character sets up a fake interview where he sits between a cardboard cut out of Liza Minelli and the chat show host and pretends to have an interview. Then he just pisses himself laughing as he pretends the chat show host has said something funny.
I recommend it if you haven't seen it.
I watched it when I was about 13, I didn't get it. Will try again one day, but is Rob D Niro trying to be funny? I hate it when he does that.
I too watched it when I was about 16, didn't get it, watched half and switched it off. This time though, being much older, I got it and thought it was great.
De Niro is funny in it without trying really, his character is so annoying and so mixed up at times, that it just makes you laugh.
I.e. when he fantasises that he's been invited to the chat show hosts summer house, so he convinces himself that his fantasy was reality and turns up to the man's summer house uninvited, with his girlfriend.

Well I definitely give it a go, it repeated quite a bit, I'm sure it is? Thanks for the recommendation (I may take that back though

It's a great film, one of Scorcese's best, though not as well known and widely appreciated as some of his others.

That's part of the reason I like it so much.
It's a great film. As a satire on celebrity status and the desperation for fame, it is very prescient for a film made at the beginning of the 1980s. (Also, Jerry Lewis' best ever performance.)
One of the best films ever. It is very funny, but don't be put off by de Niro's later films where he is being funny, here he is just being funny.
Er... exactly, Badge. 
(Though he is pretty funny at being funny when he is being funny in Analyse This, to be fair.)

Much like this film, neither of those posts were funny like. 
Funny you thought they were meant to be funny, when funnily enough they weren't.

As funny as Robert De Niro playing against Ben Stiller. Imagine that *dream* pairing.
To be fair, I can tolerate Meet The Parents, but the idea still makes me want to stab my eyes out and feed them to Paris Hilton, who'll then shit them live out on web cam whilst tap dancing on Michael Jackson's grave, singing happy birthday to you in racist version of Stevie Wonder.
