British Comedy Guide

Out of the box

Hello everybody,
I am one half (the better one) of a comedy writing partnership from sunny South East Wales, UK and a self-confessed comedy addict. I’ve been loitering around both forums for a few weeks now and have been really impressed with what is on offer.

I have been writing scripts for a few years off-and-on but nothing too serious, however I recently retired, at the grand old age of 34 and have found that time is no longer a problem. I am currently engrossed in my third project (my first collaborative one), which hopefully should be ready for pitching 2007/08.

My comedy favourites and influences are numerous and span the decades, but my favourite ones are:

Steptoe & Son Fawlty Towers League of Gentlemen Father Ted The Mighty Boosh Ideal Porridge Swiss Tony Trailer Park Boys (Canadian I know, but it’s my current fav) Bottom Phoenix Nights.

I could go on and on…

Anyway, I think I’ll take off my shoes; I might be staying!!!

Love the name. Laughing out loud

With comments like that, you could make yourself very unpopular round here

;)

Welcome t'site.

Hey, like the name. I'm from a welsh comedy duo too. This is a great forum.

Retired at 34? Which branch of local government did you work in?

Sorry for misleading you slightly but 'retired' sounds alot more glamorous than 'finishing due to ill-health'
