Everyone passes their exams now.
The grading system and/or the exams themselves have become a joke.

My chipolata senses are tingling! Earlier you were bemoaning the pressure British teenagers are under to perform in exams etc, now you're saying the exams are a joke and everyone passes now!
You can get them as free gifts in cereal packets now.

Yep. There's extra importance on them now and everyone wants/expects to get A*s and it's a big catastrophe if they don't. I know someone's who's just got a A in English Lit, who's never read a book in her life! So they're under great pressure and yet not actually learning anything.
Quote: Scatterbrained Floozy @ August 20 2009, 11:45 AM BSTI saw loads of boys on TV about results! The other thing I found today is that girls go in early for results then hang around, where as boys turn up and go having done just exactly what they needed to. This was true of my school anyway.
How unlike girls to stand around wasting their time for no apparent reason...
Quote: Dolly Dagger @ August 20 2009, 12:45 PM BSTPersonally I hate that squeeley girl footage they show as excitable youngsters collect their results. ... And the thing I really hate is when someone is crying when being filmed
YES. I want to slap those whiny little bitches. Especially when they say they got 135 As. If you failed to get your place, crying is just about acceptable. Stupid idiots.

Quote: Nogget @ August 20 2009, 6:56 PM BSTI like to see all those optimistic youngsters smiling and laughing on getting their results, especially since on graduation, 1 in 3 of them will end up without a graduate-level job.

Schools don't teach children. They train them to pass exams.

Very true.
