My chipolata senses are tingling! Earlier you were bemoaning the pressure British teenagers are under to perform in exams etc, now you're saying the exams are a joke and everyone passes now!

Yep. There's extra importance on them now and everyone wants/expects to get A*s and it's a big catastrophe if they don't. I know someone's who's just got a A in English Lit, who's never read a book in her life! So they're under great pressure and yet not actually learning anything.
