As far as I know, she was very real.
That book she was on about should be out soon. Look for one about a Native American leaving home to go off and live in America/Canada? in a massive house and make art and write for that book deal that fell in her lap.
(Not that I'm jealous or anything...) 
She might come back if we keep talking about her enough.

She was. There are a few, usually foreign - DaButt, Curt, etc - that stand out because they're so different to the norm. Which is good.
