Female Boxing in 2012

Surprised we haven't already discussed this. What are your feelings about the IOA allowing chicks to duke it out in the ring at London 2012?

Personally, I was hoping they were going to bring in 'Foxy Boxing' which is more of an exhibition sport involing half naked women with over sized comedy boxing gloves pretending to hit each other, but you can't have everything.

So is Lady Punching a bold step forward for Women's Lib or is it just a grotesteque entertainment? Should we encourage the fairer sex to pummel each other into brain damage or is this a noble sport displaying the art of pugilism?

How about Women's Beach Volleyball? Is it not a dichotomy or hypocracy to have both sports in the Olympics?

Blurt out your sexist opinons please.

If they want to box, let them.

As long as it's ugly birds hitting each other, then I see no harm in this.

Personally I'm lobbying for synchronised pole dancing to be there at London 2012.

Woman boxing is all well and good, but who would cook the dinner?

Can this thread be closed now? We've pretty much covered all the bases.

Then again brain damage is going to be less of a risk for females.

Personally, I'd love to see what a woman lying on her back for more than 10 seconds looks like.

Chip has a point, this is the future of the forum, 5 replys and thread closed...

My brothers used to box and I used to help them train (okay I mostly had to hold a baseball glove and be punched repeatedly). I really got into, even eating raw eggs. But eventually grew out of it. I'm glad they taught be how to throw a proper punch though. :)

I used to do that when I trained (about 17 - 18), I could never eat more than 2 raw eggs in ago or I would throw them up Sick

I was about 9 and would eat raw eggs to try and impress my brothers' mates. I think I could eat about three at a time. :|

Can't see it catching on as much as women's beach volley ball.

Where's that being held in 2012?
