Actress suggestions

Hey guys

Some people on here might think I'm boasting by flagging up my little Edinburgh reading later this month in this thread, and quite frankly those people can f**k off.

For everyone else, I'd like your help if you would. We've hit upon a small problem with casting and I was wondering if you guys might be able to help out with suggestions. The last character we need to cast is female, in her twenties, new-agey, obsessed with kabalah, Buddhism etc, quite posh, snobby even, but aspirational. I wanted Laura Solon - she would've been perfect - but we've just found out she's too busy. We're now going for Katy Wix who I hear is fantastic...but she may be otherwise engaged too in which case I'm going to be left scratching my head.

So my question is - any actress names come to mind who might fit the bill? Ideally they'd be already in Edinburgh around the 26th/27th to save on costs. Names! I need names!! Someone like Tamsin Greig I suppose, but she's a bit (ahem) mature for the part.

Thanks guys.

Ohhh. That sounds good. Well done Lee.

Can't really help on the actress though. Sorry.

Isabel Fay was the first name that sprang to mind. No idea whether she is doing Edinburgh this year.

Are you being a bit ambitious? Or are the others all names?

Try casting call pro.

When it comes to ditzy broads, I have a soft spot for Meredith MacNeill. But she's 33. And Canadian.

Pissed off Solon can't make it actually. I was already working on my chat-up lines.

33's okay I'd say. The Canadian thing might be a problem. :)

The other confirmed cast are the brilliant Lizzie Roper from Worst Week, Seymour Mace from Ideal and an up-and-comer called Ben Van Der Velde.

do they have to be established I know some really talented comedy actresses who are based in Manchester. Also Nadia Kamil who was in the radio shows spats is in ediburgh around that time and she's v funny and would probably do it.

I'd recommend Louisa Ashton who MAY be in Edinburgh. I've sent her a message.

I think the problem with unestablished performers is that there's nothing to judge them by...there's no real time to be holding auditions etc. I'll check out Nadia Kamil though. THanks.

Not for an actress who works in the UK, I wouldn't have thought.

Is Lizzie Roper playing the older sister?

Cheers, another name to check out. All this may be academic anyway if we can get Katy Wix - but good to have other names in the pot.

Yeah she is. Lizzie does great accents / voices so we're confident she'll be fab.

No suggestions for Actors from me I'm afraid.
But good luck with the whole thing Lee.

Katie would be good. I love her - but would think she's otherwise occupied.

How about Miranda Hart?
