Now the Weather scripts

Comedy writer Paul Rose has posted script extracts from Now the Weather on his blog. They've been online a few days but I thought I'd post the links here anyway as I guess not everyone is a reader of his blog and so might not have seen them yet.

A bit of background: Now the Weather was a single-camera non-broadcast sitcom pilot filmed last year. Despite having, I thought, a great premise and strong cast (including Mark Heap) it seems that the project isn't getting a series as neither the BBC, ITV or C4 want to pick it up.

Here's the script extracts...

Part 2

Part 3

Part 4

Broadcasters are silly fools aren't they? Well, sometimes. I thought it was great from what he gave us.

That was interesting, cheers Mark.

Paul Rose is a genius, and will surely be recognised as such one day. Until then, I shall wear my french-stick hat with pride!!

I thought the script extracts by Paul Rose were very good and think that anybody on BSG who hasn't had a pilot of their sitcom made would do well to read both the Paul Rose scripts and also what Robin Kelly has to say in the 'BBC Writers Room' thread on BSG.

I found it very, very useful stuff anyway! :)

What's the Robin Kelly link?

Another writer who has got to the pilot stage (or just before it) who has opinions that perhaps have something to offer to those of us who haven't got that far... :)
