I'm trying to get into that. I've done some volunteering and it's great. I'm learning Makaton at the moment, hoping it will help.
Huge help, it's so useful and you can kinda drop it into your interview.
Where are you volunteering? And you should be able to get a decent job in care pretty sharpish.
Just Wikied Makaton, very interesting.
Especially that you can teach it to toddlers to avoid temper tantrums, as they can tell you what's wrong before they've learned to speak.

I volunteered at a home, when they went out on day trips. Only a few times but was fun. My girlfriend is (or soon will be) an LD Nurse. She got me into it and I met some of the peeps she cares for, which was cool.

Sounds like very noble and worthwhile work Soots, I'm sure you will go to Heaven when you die - unless you're making them fight and filming it on your mobile phone.

I think it's a neglect of duty to this website. You've clearly got your priority's wrong. If I can neglect the developing minds of the nation by giving them 5 hours of colouring in then the least you can do is not take a job which involves actual work. My God man what are you thinking!
