You're Welcome America

Not the biggest fan of Will Ferrel's shouting and gurning so I wasn't expecting much from this one man show in which he play George W Bush (shown on More 4).

It's very funny and for a two hour show about Bush he keeps the momentum and laughs going throughout. His political and personal observations are as good as anything Culshaw or Bremener do.

I liked it too. Had a few slow parts too it but I thought he pulled it off well. Ferrel does overly confident people well.

Hadn't thought of that, usually really dumb over confident people as well; Bobby Ricky, Ron Burgundy and now George W

Will Ferrell is a comedy genius and I'm gutted I forgot to Sky+ this. Hopefully it'll be repeated soon.

It was alright, but it needed more cowbell, imho.

Laughing out loud I agree

More Cowbell wouldn't have hurt, but it was brilliant. Will Ferrell is a genius. :)

Some good moments. At least 30 minutes too long. Well-performed. Problem is that George Bush's story is slightly beyond parody and satire.

Condy Rice was sexy. But I agree that Bush is beyond satire anyway. Maybe in fifteen or twenty years, when he'sd a distant memory, this stuff will seem more effective. I felt the same about the Oliver Stone movie. You need time to elapse before you can really dissect a subject.

I liked Oliver Stone's movie. :)
Not because it was about Bush, I just found it an engaging film. It actually made me feel bad for poor Bushy.

If you watch some old clips of interviews from his younger partying days, Bush seemed quite a fun guy to be around actually. Pity he sobered up and found religion in many ways.
