Why don't you go to the pub together?!
Pub - Who can still afford it? Page 4
Do you sit on your own though?
Or are there regulars there every night you sit with?
Like Cheers.

Then who'd get the tea?
Exactly, lol.
She came down with me yesterday but somehow we always end up staying a lot longer when we go out together.
I sit on my own on a chair in the corner, sometimes other regulars in sometimes not, but I like to provide entertainment to the bar staff.

Well in our house we have Head Chef who's a bit of a Gordon Ramsey character (me) and then we have a Sous Chef who does all the crap jobs like peeling and chopping. Because it means the dinner gets cooked quicker.
I take a similiar approach when I cook.
And all the credit.

Sounds good!

You know showing them that tattoo of a Narwhal on your penis isn't srtrictly entertainment right?
I can still afford it. A glass of tap water costs nothing. They love me.
In better spirits tonight with the knowledge Match of the Day will be on in fifteen minutes.

My first thought!
I don't go to the pub that much now (probably once a month for a treat). That doesn't stop me drinking in the house though.
When I was younger and REALLY skint I used to smuggle a few cans into my local and head straight for the gents, where I'd hide the beer in the toilet cistern. (Keeps it cool). Then I'd buy one pint from the bar and simply top up from the bog when the glass was low.
The shame.
Quote: Jack Massey @ August 15 2009, 3:14 PM BSTYes but the thing is, I only drink one night a week anyway. Possibly might do Friday and Saturday every now and then. I work hard all week and like a night out in the pub at the weekend, but I just can't afford it anymore.
That sucks. So the days of £1.50 to £2 for a pint are over? Surely you can still buy cheap booze at the supermarket in the UK? Then just find a single, alcoholic colleague/friend with a nice house (within reasonable walking distance from your own house) and a good sound system - and lots of like-minded friends - and go drinking weekends at his place. Or move to a country where alcohol is dirt cheap.
There are pubs who do cheap deals but they're either hard to find or not the kind of place sensible people drink.
There's a Japanese bar which does unlimited beer for £20 and you get the pump at your table. You'd only have to drink over 9 pints to be in profit.
There are lots of cheaper pubs away from the centre.
What's your tipple, Sooty?
Varies but usually beer.
I also like alcopops, decent whiskey and cocktails.
Wine occaisonal, God pretty much everything.
And yourself?
