I just can't stand people like him who take the p*ss (sorry, mickey) out of the public by being so blatant. The best word I can think of describing him as is a c**t.

Well don't let it happen again - you anus-licking cock-sucking, cum-swallowing, c**t! - Ok?
My favourite MP, and my favourite gay. Pity about this stupid remark. I do suspect that there's quite a bit of context to this discussion that has been conveniently 'forgotten' to be reported by the popular press though.
I'd like to see him stay in his post (and eventually become PM), but I don't think that that is a realistic possibility right now.

I don't think he is up to the PM job Aaron. He is undoubtably talented, but I get the real impression that he rubs a lot of people up the wrong way - and this is way before this little episode (even though he may actually have a point).
I thought his claims on the expenses scandle were very much pushing the boat, and to be fair if I had been Cameron he would have gone.
Although he would cause trouble on the back benches mind - which is why I'm sure he is still in position.

Ah, shame on you for the homophobia bigfella.
And it does appear to be a bit out of context. We bemoan bland, boring politicians (and sportspeople) who stick to the party line, but as soon as anyone says something a little different they media leaps all over them. And as to what he said, I'm all a bit 'meh' about it. *shrugs*

Unfortunately that could be right.
Has he actually done anything wrong?
Can we start picking on politicians who actually do stuff? You know murder their lovers, invade small defenceless countries accept huge bribes to vote out policies.
Dare I say it Winston Churchill comes across as a smart arse and a bit of a dick at times.

Are you seriously comparing Duncan to Churchill?

Yes I know. Tried to change it in time but you beat me. John was an account I fired a few years ago.

No, but then Duncan hasn't had an opportunity to be a wartime leader. If we are going to obsess about every pecadillo like we're a bunch of; slack jawed, Heat reading, Big Brother watching Bovines. We will never have a Churchill, a Thatcher or a Bevin. We'll have nothing more than inoffensive cookie cutter political professionals.
Criticise people for doing stuff.
e.g. Harriet Harman banging the feminist drum like a wind up monkey, whilst paying her female staff on average 30% less than the blokes. Or Mandelson accepting temporary leadership when he's not even elected.

Agreed.

Hang on.
1. Duncan isn't going to get that chance because of mistakes like this. The media will nail him to the cross.
2. Please also note that in order to do anything you have to get elected and Alan Duncan would not get a party elected.
3. Remember Churchill got kicked out when the British Public actually got a say on the matter.
4. I criticise people for NOT doing stuff.
What were his actual mistakes? Was he fiddling expenses?

I think I'm right in saying that Churchill wasn't elected in 1940. Didn't Chamberlain resign?
