Getting On - Series 1 Page 4

I thought this series was great actually. Never been a huge fan of Jo Brand, so the few trails I saw for it didn't really sell it to me, but thankfully I clicked onto it on iPlayer in time to catch it.

Nicely performed, great stories there and its got that great NHS grime about it.

A few really stand out moments throughout, but I particularly enjoyed the foul mouthed elderly patient in... think it was the second episode, the conduct meeting between Kim and the Matron, the whole shit on a chair fiasco and the doctor on the phone to Dignitas, struggling her German before "Do you speak English, oh lovely..." lol.

Certainly left me hungry for more, so would love to see a meatier series crop up soon.

I absolutely loved it.
I need more!

It would be nice to think the head of BBC comedy had rang up and congratulated the three writer-performers, asked for them to do a whole series and told them money was no problem as Horne and Corden and Krud Mulder (or whatever the f**k that sword and sorcery crap is called) is being cancelled.

Glad I'm not the only one who enjoyed horrible Ivy and would be interested to know more about the actress who played her.

I'm so pleased other people liked this too. I thought it was going to be one of those things I like that no one else does - or even sees.

I wonder if it'll make the leap to BBC Two? it's certainly good enough I think.

I was really surprised by the quality of it to be honest. Did try to get my mother hooked on it - as someone whose spent time in that arena I know she'd love it. But she gets an allergic reaction to any camera work that veers away from total stillness, so it's been a tough sell!

I was impressed all round with it. Pretty much every speaking role was well handled and while she's not the most electric of personalities, Jo Brand really impressed me in it. Maybe if it does get a six part second series, they'll have to spread things a bit more thinly, but from the standard set so far, it won't suffer.

Good little series. Some very funny stuff in it. I'd like to see a second run, but this type of show leaves me feeling cold and cheated so I won't be crying if there aren't any further episodes.

I really enjoyed this series. I'm a huge Jo Brand fan anyway so I knew I would like it.

Just wish they had made more than 3 episodes. A very short series in my view.

Any news on a DVD release yet? Or will they do like with The Thick Of It, and film a few more episodes then group them all together as series one.

Well, I think it's brilliant but, like Cowards, there is *no* *way* I am paying for three episodes on a DVD! I refuse to go back to the days of buying 'byte 1' and 'byte 2' of Red Dwarf videos!

And yet I bet you're happy to pay for films of 80 minute duration...

That is not the point!

This is the sort of show that should be out all of the time. It was brilliant though sadly it appears for the moment you need to have a big name in comedy if you are ever going to be considered for writing this sort of stuff. Every script I have submitted (ok not as good as this- probably) it has been said it needs to have a plot and not be as subtle. I reckon we'll probably have to wait till about 2012 till the world gets it's taste for good comedy back again.

Don't think much of the cover.

Only when it's been reduced to about 3 quid.

Would you have preferred them in lingerie?
