Yes that does happen. But in many cases if they can show a willingness to learn about the kids culture it's not an issue.

I may adopt a child in the future. Most of the children do not fit the ethnic or age group I would be allowed to adopt.

Not really, you have incredibly wealthy people running the government, the banks, the credit card companies, big corporations and they are just as evil, if not more so then the poor.

As far as I'm concerned the only criteria is if that kid will be brought up in a loving family. I don't really care if that kid knows about it's culture or not.

I haven't read most of this thread and haven't followed the case at all, wasn't really aware what a Baby P was for a while. So I think I have the right to throw around ill informed opinions.

You also have to think about the child too. Will they be happy being so different from the rest of the family, etc.

Well this kind of profiling came in because of kids growing up unhappy, feeling displaced not knowing who they are.

For one there are very few white children. I do not have the resources to adopt a family group of more than two children (and that would be pushing it). I could only adopt a child younger than my own. There are very few children in this age group. I do not feel I have the ability or practical means to care properly for a child with a major disability and as an older mother their future would be a consideration.

I do find it difficult to believe that to be honest. I'm not saying you're wrong. But a child brought up in the right way surelly would know exactly who they are and where they came from?
I dunno if I'd use the term stop, but I suspect they'd have a hard time making a case for adoption.
This is one of the uncomfortable areas that there are more stable white/asian family groupings than black family groupings.

No, really no on this one. I had a friend who was a community worker who ran support groups for mixed race families and alot of the parents didn't know how to wash the kids hair.
