Is Barrack gonna beat 4 years?

Yowzer that guy is taking a pounding. He deserves it though, murderous bastard wanting to force 47,000,000 Americans to have health care. But with Sara Palin coming back from the shadows (and now almost too evil be horny in my view) and massive revolt against his suggestions.

But if Obama can't with control over both houses of government in the US push this legislation through. Is he actually you know...upto the job?

I think it's a bit early to write him off. All that's happening now is that the honeymoon is over and he's looking mortal.

Any presidency attacking the very rich and powerful US private health lobby is going to have a rocky ride but Obama is in this for the long haul and under no illusions about what he is up against. All the more respect to him that is he is not making panic u-turns for short term popularity like Clinton.

And Clinton failed to reform health care but still won two terms and remained very popular despite numerous sexual indiscretions. And Barrack is never likely to have to worry about them.

Of course he will.

I think I may be right but not sure. US Presidents can't serve more than two terms (8 years), right?

Eight years is the limit. Obama will have to raise taxes to pay for even a portion of his huge spending increase. He won't be reelected unless the GOP nominate someone even worse than Palin in 2012. So far it's looking like Carter all over again.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Hillary elected in 2012 - perhaps onthe GOP ticket.

a) GOP?
b) Eight years in one's life, or at any uninterrupted run?

GOP: Grand Old Party (a common term for the Republican party)

It's 2 terms in a lifetime, I believe.

Yes, it's 2 terms lifetime.

So vsmpires and zombies can run again?

More to the case where do our US chums stand on Barrack's health reforms?

I tend to agree with DaButt's view.

It may be a little early and I confess I haven't followed much of his first 8 months, but I get the impression he might be a little "lightweight" for the position. So may the door for Hilary.

DaButt are you suggesting Hilary will cross the floor as it were?

Hillary is quite a hard ass. If she didn't have her husband as part of the package I think she'd look good to a lot of Republicans after 4 years of Obama.

Five out of six Americans have health care that they're happy with. It'll take a miracle to convince them that they should pay higher taxes and receive less/worse care so that the other 1/6 can have coverage. I'm convinced that my quality of care will suffer and it'll cost me more under the government's plan.

I don't see what there is to dislike about what he's doing.
But I'm biased being someone who enjoys socialized health care.
It's got its problems but its never had any ill affect on anyone I personally know. I've only heard the propaganda horror stories cropping up in the US news.
