Ah bath time...it was great being a kid.

Did you ever bath with your sister? :)

Just with my girl cousins. :(

I remember bugging my mum for a train set when I was a kid. My lovely mother bought it for me, and f**king expensive it was too.

A circle bit of track and a boring "modern" looking train. :(

Choo choo!

I had an old one, steamy kind. You could burn it out by holding it on the track. :D Whistling nnocently

A rag doll
Whistles made from small branches
Grass dollies
Skipping ropes
Chalk and stones - with which we played hopscotch and drew tracks and courses which we invented games for
Marbles
Thunderbirds vehicles
A hand made dolls house.
Snakes and Ladders
Ludo
Roller skates
Go Karts that we made ourselves

I used to play marbles with my mates. Do kids play marbles anymore? Or shove-ha'penny? Or "What's the time, Mr Wolf?". Or "What's in Uncle Peter's pockets?"

Oh we (my sister and I) had some stilts my dad made. A couple of bits of wood basically, but they were great! :D

I did play the last one, two marbles & a snake wasn't it?

:D Watch those sparks fly! Cool

I actually had an old Flying Scotsman that was my Dads. That was better :)

I still have the train set, in the loft, I think? Hmmm, could I sell that?

Who made a Go kart?

Not me, so I'm not sure why I asked.

Thought that said pebble! :D

When I was about 8 my Dad was on the dole and had no cash to buy expensive Christmas presents. So he secretly started work in October on building me a model railway. I always wondered what he was doing, hammering and clattering away in the back room but the door was always locked.

Anyway, come Christmas morning, I clearly remember Dad leading me into the back room with his hands over my eyes. He took them away and I opened my eyes to see the most amazing landscaped trainset I'd ever seen. Over the course of 3 months, he'd built the whole thing with his bare hands on a huge 6ft x 4ft board. There were rolling hills, that he'd fashioned out of chicken wire and papier mache, windmills, a little town, tunnels, loads of little people, even a working level crossing. The detail was amazing, even down to the fake grass that he'd lovingly sprinkled about. It truly was a work of art.
"Well?" said Dad expectantly, "What do you think?"
And I looked up at him with tears in my eyes and said "I don't like trains."

I did.

Pram wheels, wood and some rope to steer. No brakes, lots of crashes.

Aw, no!!

Sounds awesome though. I dunno what I thought would be so fun about trains? My Scaletrix was better! :D (Not made by my Dad)
