Just wondering if anyone attended last weeks News Revue (London). I see there's a sketch by Terry Newman called H1N1 - A young mother calls NHS Direct. I was doing a similar sketch with a swine flu hotline menu so it'd be useful to know what this sketch was and the jokes therein.
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
Dunno. I haven't gone up to see the show this run.
They reackon they're "swine flu heavy" regarding sketches, so it might not be a good idea.
Week 2 of the summer run....

Just got the listing and the BCG is really well represented. None from me though.
I would say a good 60-70% of the sketches came from people on here. Well done! (Bastards!)
Sorry to hear you got nothing in.
and... LOL @ Well done! (Bastards!)

Hi, folks I've written a sketch for NR but I have alternate endings I was wondering I am best to include them both or choose one myself? Also, when is the deadline for sending stuff in each week?
Cheers muchly

Send them both if I were you.
Just send whenever - if you miss the deadline it will be held over for the following week. Although - it's only at the change of run that major changes get made.

Thanks Bigfella! Double thumbs up for you.
Just thought I should tell y'all that the server at NR/Canal cafe has been down for the past 24hrs and is not expected back up 'til tomorrow so if you submitted yesterday then you may wish re-send tomorrow. Personally I don't think stuff is held over, especially mid-run if it is by then considered last weeks news.
Concerning the address I always believed it to be submissions@newsrevue.com but I've not had acknowledgement for read receipts and today when I rang them I was advised to send to mail@newsrevue.com

I would disgree with that - I've had stuff pop up three or four weeks after I've sent it.
Really? But were your subjects still in the news (expenses, swine flu) or a broad swipe at folk who're always a target? I'd be really interested to know if it were neither.

Oh Christ knows - it was at the start of the year. I think one was about the fella who had that list on display in front on the press.
Thing is they tend to go for major stories which either tend to hand around or are memorable enough to use.
Thanks. I'm tempted to try that one too but I've also noticed I'm not getting any undeliverable mail messages although their server is down. Does this mean that any stuff sent is merely queued in cyberspace and it'll all be there when they get back up? Otherwise I think I'm encouraging people to clog up their mail server with duplicate entries.
