The nation's divide

Are you north, south or just happy to be classed as one?

I'm in the Midlands, I find (in my experience) people from the south to be a lot more ignorant/arrogant than people in the north. But that's just my personal experience and wouldn't like to generalise too much on this.

what are your thoughts?

The further you go up the country, the friendlier people seem to get. Ending at Scotland obviously, I'm from the Midlands too.

I asked in guy in London for directions, he ignored me and carried on walking.
I asked a guy in Yorkshire for directions, he took me to his home, watered and fed me, and let me bone his wife...

:)

I find that people in the Midlands are more likely to judge southerners as being ignorant/arrogant.

No problem with northerners, but people from the midlands can be twats. Though obviously I don't like to generalise...

You aren't refering to me as a general twat are you Timbo?

There are a hell of a lot more people in the south, so I think it varies a lot more here. I find this legendary northern 'friendliness' to be a bit of the Blitz spirit. Y'know, rallying around because they live somewhere shit.

Laughing out loud

Do they even have the internet up there?

Also, aren't they all bakers? With Kids running down cobbled streets with loaves under their arms fending off other kids, because..Oo..he's got a wholemeal one.

I was specifically not referring to anyone as a twat in general. But our thread opener might appear to be trolling, not that I like to generalise about trolls.

L.overs?...

I really don't think that Luke is a troll. Just an odd, ill-thought out post/thread.

I hate all the north/south shit. It's a load of bollocks.

Like the beautiful Lake District?

No.

Like the beautiful Lake District?

Are you from up North Matt?

The Lake District is overratred - a bit like Blackpool.

I suppose I'm classed as the East. East Anglia I suppose.

I find Northerners quite nosey and lazy. Far too worried about relaxing for whatever social event they're having in their 'yard' - usually a barbecue.

I have little problem with Southerners, if I did I'd have to divorce my parents. Although people in the deep South West are far too laid back for my liking.

East to West is just as wide a gap as North to South, yet there's never an artificial boundary drawn between them.
