Did they have a best of 2008 competition?

Quote: Leevil @ August 7 2009, 9:45 PM BST

Don't think so?

Well if they haven't then we should do one!
Is it Aaron I go to for Critique queries?

I liked Lee Henman's 'Brian Blessed' sketch. It was quite sublime.

I've always had a soft spot for David Bussell's 'Forget Paris' sketch as well.

Swertyd and Afinkawan's sketches are consistently funny too.

It's good to get the recommendations Ben, but if you search by name it doesn't necessarily take you to their sketches.
I searched for Afinkawan and ended up in a BlackDhalia thread!
Alhough, looking back I may have typed in 'Wankinafan' by mistake.
:$ :D

I shall get on to rectifying it, Sir Fred!

Only if you should want to feed him the set up line for a cheap jibe...

Well if we can confirm that there hasn't been a 2008 competition then we should do one.
And if there was a 2008 comp then we need to put the link on this thread.

Some quality Afinkawan: https://www.comedy.co.uk/forums/thread/13854#P439652

And we can't forget good old Yacob Wingnut, can we: https://www.comedy.co.uk/forums/thread/11814

I am not sure Aaron would accept the principle of a 'best of' in Critique. Slag A or Paul W might offer a more constructive view.

Though personally I see no harm in setting Aaron up for a cheap jibe.

And yes, Sooty has made me laugh many times.

But aside from when disrobing?

You can, but in this case I'd just have to refer you to Paul W. There's not been one as far as I'm aware, but wouldn't like to say for certain.

Something like "A competition with no entries"?

I read this thread and thus far there has been no mention of The Slaggs. This needs rectified forthwith:

Thanks, D. Sam & Dave kindly recorded that (3rd track down) for their Soundart Radio show.

In a blaze of self-promotion, Sam & Dave have animated this sketch for me too now. It'll be available on YouTube as soon as they've cleared the legalities(!)

Dan

Any more for any more?

I've been doing a lot of reflecting recently, mainly because of my new job at the house of mirrors.

Laughing out loud Oh me! :D :$

Steve you are at times like the kid who made it big singing in Vegas, coming back to your home town.

Smiling at the poor folks, but refusing to sing.

Hopefully you'll share some of your NewsQuiz tunes with us humble shoe shine boys and seamstresses?
