John Hughes RIP Page 7

It is a horrible, horrible, terrible film. Yet some people think Temple is some sort of genius. (The same people who probably think Malcolm Maclaren is.)

Remember when a film with Tom Hanks in was something to look forward to? No?

Big was an excellent kids' film. But he also did the lesser-known Punchline with Sally Field, playing a struggling stand-up. It had some good moments I thought.

I love Big, but the film we saw was something about a volcano I think?

I liked Swindle but only because of the footage and music. I remember making my friend's French exchange student watch it and drink brandy and chocolate milkshake. :)

*poops party*

Shouldn't this thread be about John Hughes?

I don't know her but how can anyone with the name Molly be considered sexy?

(Go on - I'm waiting)

I have never considered her sexy, neither then nor now. But she was very funny in Not Another Teen Movie, which more people should watch. She made some bad career moves, knocking back the lead part that Julia Roberts got in Pretty Woman, which was crap.

It's like when everyone thinks Duran Duran were some great rock band.

Joe and the Volcano that's a bloody odd and rather unedifying film.

Mannequin!

<3 <3 <3

Quite true.

Chaka Khan wearing deely boppers, a Choose Life t-shirt and attending a miner's strike riot isn't as 80's as Mannequin.

If they sold Mannequin at Pizza Hut, you wouldn't be able to lift a slice because of the extra cheese.

He is. Waltz Darling is one of my favourite albums!

Joe Versus the Volcano. Oh dear.

The Burbs!

Joe Versus The Volcano - all the hallmarks of a premise dreamed-up one night at a party by a couple of coked-up Hollywood execs.

Kudos for mentioning Mannequin, which was one of the first big tests of Andrew McCarthy's lack of acting skills. Also, of course, had a theme tune from 'Starship' - Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now. Oh dear.

Yeah, it was crap.
