Ha, I am?
Quote: Dolly Dagger @ August 6 2009, 11:17 PM BSTWe used to watch The Deerhunter, The Terminator, Spinal Tap and The Hitcher (and Bumf**kers, which belonged to my friend's brother).
All great except for the film about people have sex with tramps. But they were good in diferent ways. There's nothing cool about trying to be painfully cool.
Gremlins too. Although not essentially about Christmas, it is set during Christmas and has the feel of a Christmas film. (Unless it's set during Thanksgiving instead? Hold on, better check this one...)
EDIT: It was Christmas. Phew!

Sorry that's an also ran, the happy ending ruins it utterly.

Watch it Chappers. Or don't if you don't want to, I shouldn't dictate to my elders.

I think so? If you're going to live near Ellie.

But... but... it so *isn't* a happy ending! Everyone is f**ked, they just think they aren't temporarily because it's Christmas! It's brilliant!

Did you and your girly mates like Julian Temple's Absolute Beginners?

I couldn't see a joke there.

I just want to see Jimmy Stewart turn to evil and kill the angel. Then the burn the bank down and smack the kid with a large iron bell before screaming
"No angels but you got winged!"

Ohhh.
Well, yes perhaps then!
Could end up anywhere though.

Well, I made my friend go and see it with me because of Bowie's involvement. But we insisted on paying for child tickets, because we were 14, with ID, and then of course we weren't allowed in because it was a 18 film. We had to watch a Tom Hanks film instead...
But it was pants by all accounts.
