But it was Ally Sheedy's dandruff.

Quote: The Giggle-o @ August 6 2009, 10:40 PM BSTwrote some really good Christmas movies.
Yes!
Home Alone is one of my favourite Christmas films.
P, T and A is funny. But I stand by my comments on Pretty in Pink and Breakfast Club. As someone old enough and cool enough at that the time they came out, I can assure you they were shit.
Thank you.

I sense a case of Molly Ringwald-envy, Dolly...
(Both films even temporarily made Simple Minds and Psychedelic Furs seem like acceptable bands.)

Molly Ringworm? Nah, we thought she was sad. As her subsequent career proved.
In that case it's obviously Ally Sheedy-itis then.
How could you dislike poor little Anthony Michael Hall?
And I bet you secretly fancied Judd Nelson.
it was all too American. My friends and I were into Withnail at that time.
Perhaps John Hughes' films just remind Dolly of some of the worst of 80s fashion. In 80s Hughes-land, American teenagers were often to be found wearing grey casual sports jackets with the sleeves rolled-up.

It is possible to like both.

I identified with the Anthony Michael Hall character in The Breakfast Club, so I guess I would have been laughed at/ignored by you and all your cool friends, Dolly.
(Ever seen Heathers, dear?)
I <3 Ally Sheedy.
