Probably because the panellists tend to be Labour-voting sillies, and most all (save perhaps 2) of the prominent female MPs are Labour. So they can't criticise them on ideological grounds.

Oh, I don't know... I've heard loads of blokes watching TV or whatever have to pass comment on what the women look like where the females in the room have kept quiet.
I do think physical attraction is important but it doesn't have to mean matching an ideal of beauty. I think men look good with big noses. 
I like a good roman nose myself.

I have a big old Roman nose. My younger brother has a phobia about his (as I did when I was younger) and has had 2 nose jobs. He's still not happy with it.
