That was your balls? I thought they were a binary star system.
Can't they be both?
Here's something that's just occurred to me Joel. Have you ever thought of getting a writing partner? Someone with complementary skills of course. Dennis Norden says you always need two people in a comedy writing partnership - one to type, and one to stare out of the window. What you need is a typist with a sense of humour.
And endless endless patience, I believe I can be quite annoying to write with.

Wise words.
Re: the language learning. Make sure you learn from an approach where they teach you verbs and their use/conjugations first. The rest follows easily.
I was taught French this way, and it was great (and far more interesting/easier to learn). German they tried to teach us just lots of vocab. Despite doing that for a whole year, I can only remember a single phrase, which is only useful should I want to navigate the whole of Germany solely by asking 'where is the cathedral, please?'.

Don't ask that in Cologne!!
This book helped me out like you wouldn't believe:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Penguin-Guide-Punctuation-Reference-Books/dp/0140513663
I did a Journalism degree, and they didn't teach us ANYTHING about grammar and punctuation. I was throwing out incorrect usage of colons all over the place.

If you want to learn another language to improve your understanding of English and don't want to learn just the conversational, try Latin.
Useful for Latin America?

Unfortunately useful for nowehere, except medicine and some areas of archealogy.

Agreed. Latin is a good base to work from.

Ah yes, we weren't told about that reason for learning it at my girls' school.
