I don't know what your objection is, Nil. Would it bother, how many times a year do you need to see the people of this forum, isn't talking to us enough everyday?

I don't think it matters how many meetups there are. As long as there's a main one where everyone has a chance to meet each other. I'm all for little versions popping up now and again.

But then again, that's maybe cos I want more chances to meet other writers?

It's not that, I'd be happy never to see any of you. ;) But I'd imagine Julia would want to go a Christmas one if there was one and I can't afford to do that AND visit Amsterdam. :(

Ahh. We could have the meet up in Amsterdam? :D

:D I was thinking more, November. :(

Did someone mention Karaoke?

So what's stopping you lightweight?

Lack of energy. :(

Lack of energy. :(

What's wrong? Have you got a life or something?

With Avatar like that it's unlikely.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. While I have met quite a few people here in the flesh, I have not actually been to a proper BCG meet and I do understand that it can make you feel left out and with the credit crunch, many people have serious money worries. But DannyJB and I really do want to do something nice for you all summer 2010 (It's our ploy of making sure I get to attend :P) and we will give everyone loads of notice like with the Yielding bash we held which some of you attended so those like me who have to put money aside for transport and lodgings and have to book holidays at the beginning of the year have a chance of comming plus we hope it would also help the more international of you. It wouldn't be anything super special, just a drink and a natter (I am not carting decorations and goodie bags on the train again!), but we do want to make sure that everyone gets a chance to meet each other so we will at least let you know of a date soon after Christmas which is more than enough time to start saving. Until then, enjoy 2009!

I'm having a meet up in my back garden, today at 6pm. Anyone's welcome B.Y.O.B.

I will take you up on that one day and you'll be shocked!

I can always pick you up. I can't drive but you can sit on the handlebars of my bike.

Makes ringing the bell hard though.
