V

Anyone remember "V", the eighties sci-fi show about lizards from space invading Earth and wanting to eat us all? As well as a great (if slightly cheesey) sci-fi show it was also a comment on the WWII Nazi invasion. It was my favourite show back then and I always hoped they'd do a modern remake.

And they are! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZLiNa4KzsY

I look forward to it. The original was very enjoyable.

I remember V being very exciting at the time.

It was all we talked about at school - especially when we found out they were really lizards!

Is this the shortest thread title ever? It's quite tricky to click on.

I've just checked, it was first shown in 1983. 26 years ago??!! Oh my God, now I feel old.

I loved this when I was a kid.

I loved it again when they showed the original mini-series on the Sci-Fi channel a year or so ago.

I loved it slightly less when they re-ran the whole TV series but only because it wasn't as good. I still enjoyed it.

Cool! I once watched whole miniseries back to back.

The art of the miniseries has been lost in recent years.

I loved V, and her when she wasn't being two faced.

What I liked was watching it and thinking, "Oh look, there's Robert Englund. Makes a nice change to see him playing a normal person instead of Freddy Krueg...aaargh! He's ripped his face off and he's an evil lizard alien!"

Remember th guinea pig eating moment? Could the effects have REALLY been that bad? :D

The exciting thing for me is Iread a review with the original producer ages ago where he spoke about his disappointment with V. It was too much of an 80s cheese fest, he wanted something more subtle more about sinister inflitration and Nazism.

This looks alot closer to the original.

I think it could be the next BSG.
