Sell them!

There is an egg lady in my village who sells them to her friends. (For hardly anything!) I love my egg lady.

As a kid, we had a neighbour who was a kind of egg ninja. She'd drop them off before we got up and took off so that we couldn't refuse. In the summer she did it with tomatoes and radishes.

Someone put some runner beans in my next-door neighbour's bicycle basket overnight.
We still don't know who it was.

Oh the weeks just fly by, here...

On Saturday nights, do you go throw rocks in the stream for fun?

We do, sadly. :P

Hehe!

If only. Unfortunately they can't even give them away as there are so many.

Blimey. How many chickens have they got?

Egg white makes a good face pack and the yolks can be used as hair conditioner (rinsed with cold water only) .

Edna, the egg ninja, had 40 chickens. Lots of eggs, all the time. And my mom couldn't cook, so I learned to make souffles and quiche at an early age.

Not that many - the most is 6 I think. It's the number of people who have chickens, rather than the number of chickens! It is a very popular thing around here.

If you are thinking of getting chickens think about what you will do with the eggs before you get them.

Easy, pickled eggs. This is the secret recipe from a place in Long Beach, California, that's famous for their pickled eggs. My friend's wife got it from the owner and I'm not sure what she had to do to get it. :O

1 12-oz jar yellow chili peppers (hot)
2 Tbsp. Pickling spice
1 c. wine vinegar
1-1/2 c. water
1 Tbsp. Sugar
1 tsp. Turmeric
2 tsp. Salt
8 eggs

Hard boil eggs. Mix rest of ingredients. Peel eggs and put into liquid while warm. Don't refrigerate. Keep in sealed jar with lid. It must marinate for two days, and the marinade may be used again several times. The hotness wears down as more eggs are added.

My granddad loved pickled eggs. He always had a massive jar on the counter. Eew.

Pickled eggs are AWESOME.

This place is a neighborhood bar/pub that's been around for about 80 years. They're famous for sausage sandwiches, pickled eggs served on a bed of pretzels and large schooners of cheap beer.

The sausage sandwich I could handle, along with the cheap beer. Can't do the egg or pretzel.

Best pickled eggs I've ever had. The pretzels are mainly garnish, but they come in handy sometimes.

Makes me want to get on a flight to Los Angeles ...
