Favourite Beatles songs Page 9

This was the one song that almost made my list. What a lovely laid back guitar riff and a lesson in how to build a song in layers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z59HteiHkZ0

Ringo lucky? Jane P, that comment gave it away as tongue-in-cheek. :-) Imo.

;)

Too many favourites to list but one I come back to a lot is The Long and Winding Road.

Blub.

I once heard 'Happy just to dance with you' from A Hard Day's Night described as 1.59 of pop perfection, and I must say, I totally agree !

There are so many good songs in that film/album.

Wave and Wave

(From The Magical Mystery Tour)

Laughing out loud

(but maybe better without the "and"?)

When I'm 64. Only cuz my best friends in high school could play it on a baritone and tuba. Hilarious.

'And Your Bird Can Sing' :)

And Your Bird Can Sing

:P

You can like it too though, I think that's allowed.

'Getting Better.'

'I'm Down' (the version on the Anthology).

The whole of Side 2 of 'Abbey Road' is pretty fantastic.

'Rain', even if it did invent Liam Gallagher's vocal delivery (sun-shee-yine).

'I Want You (She's So Heavy)' which I hated for years...

God they were so bloody brilliant.

OK, then. I'll try to narrow it down to top 10, in a rough order:

A Day in the Life
Eleonor Rigby
Yesterday (it's still bloody brilliant)
Michelle
For No One
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Because
Let It Be
All My Loving
Across the Universe

yes, I'm a melancholic type, when it comes to music :)

. But the worst Beatles song is the final track on Revolver titled Tomorrow Never Knows. Shocking stuff, but to be fair, bad Beatles songs are a very rare thing.

I take it all back. I'd only really heard the song for the first time a few weeks ago. It turns out that my stereos are f**ked up in my kitchen and all wasn't playing right, that's why I thought it was bad. I heard it again today from another device and yes, it is a good song.

I do like For No one.
That's a great song

I was listening to Revolver last night and wow, what a great album. For No One is one of my favourites too.

"I want to tell" you is great.

I'm just throwing out a random one since picking even my top 10 beatles songs would be impossible.

If someone put a gun to my head and forced me to choose one though I might say my all time favourite is "Happiness is a warm gun"... then I'd change my mind and probably get shot. Which would be ironic.

8. "Within You Without You" - skip it

I never appreciated that song until I listened to it on acid, and now I really like it. The lyrics are very meaningful.
