Quote: Aaron @ March 5 2007, 12:29 AM BSTI've not really seen much of it. Seemed more comedy-drama (but mostly comedy) than sitcom to me though? Anyway, what I have seen wasn't too bad. I'd watch it again.
You have to watch all the episodes. YRML is a great show. David Croft called it 'the jewell in his crown'. I'm actually watching an episode now from series 1. The show is full of first class characters. I cannot rate this show highly enough. It's just sublime.
Apologies for going a off-topic, but does anyone (Aaron) know what's happened to the David Croft sitcom pilot/special Here Comes The Queen, one of the last things Wendy Richard acted in? The last time I spoke with his daughter, Penny, she mentioned a possible DVD release. Anyone know what happened to this? It was certainly filmed.
Yep, the pilot wasn't picked up by BBC, ITV or any prod co's it was sent to. It failed to get anything from MIPCON in Cannes either, but according to David Croft's website the pilot is to be released soon. You can buy it direct from his site.
Cor, a David Croft website!

I love his opening webline:
"Hello Campers, Good Moaning and just a general welcome to my new Website."
He's saying hello, but reminding of us some of the great shows he's been involved with! (Apart from 'Allo 'Allo!, which was obviously shit.)
He is one of very few living legends in comedy.

He is. No argument there.
Bob Monkhouse did the theme tune for YRML didn't he?

Yes he did.
I was watching one of my DVDs of the show today and the show was just fantastic and it should get more love than it does.
Every character had depth and was funny in their own way.
The writing was second to none and I can't praise the show enough.
Definitely in my top 5 favourite sitcoms.

I bet the pair of you didn't sit down to watch J&J with a nice bottle of Pinot Grigio and a big bag of Nachos!
