Scriptwriters' Toolkit: gift copy

Since the original offer was buried in a topic about Final Draft, it seems sensible to repeat it in a thread of its own.

==========================================

Sigh! I can't stand seeing messages where people use clunky Scriptsmart or think they can do a scripting stylesheet in 10 minutes (or seconds)... Or want to use stolen software.

Here's a serial number for my Scriptwriters' Toolkit, which is a set of Templates for Microsoft Word 97, 2002, XP, 2003 on Windows. It only works partially on Word 2007 and not on any Apple Mac.

750873938

Its a non-transferable gift to BCG members.
You can download and use the full set of 14 templates with that number.

Don't throw away my good will by abusing the privilege, Its for BCG members ONLY.

Go to: http://www.datahighways.net/dhl/toolkit.htm

PirateThe serial number will time-out after it has been used on 10 dates, but more than one person can download on the same date.Pirate

Have fun...

That's very kind of you billwill.

*cheers*

Unfortunately, I'm on a Mac. :( So can't test it out.

I can send you a set without the macros in it; that means you get the paragraph styles but none of the slick keyboard actions.

Cheers Bill

Very much appreciated!

Dan

Thanks again Bill - I forgot to download this when you posted it in the other thread. Very generous! I'll buy you a pint at the meet up.

Si

Thanks for taking the time to put that up Bill. :)

Yep, thank you Bill. Most useful.

Thanks Bill, that's very generous and helpful. And hi, new to the board here.

Ah, I'd lost this topic.. I was going to put the links to the tutorial videos on it, now that I have found it again, here are the links.

Note: The toolkit DOES WORK in Word 2007, word 2010 if you install it as per the videos for Word 2007 (see below).

TUTORIAL VIDEOS

I have now revised some of these video tutorials and added videos for Windows Vista/7 and for Word 2007.

Installation

1, Installing the Scriptwriters' Toolkit on the hard disk for Windows XP. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vba4QtgERdI

2. Installing the Scriptwriters' Toolkit on the hard disk for Windows Vista or Windows 7 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdGO_5gxQOQ

3. Activating the Scriptwriters' Toolkit on Microsoft Word 2002 (XP) or Word 2003 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3FJueNamuE

4. Activating the Scriptwriters' Toolkit on Microsoft Word 2007 ((office 2007).
The procedure is very similar for Word 2010 (Office 2010) and so you can probably work out how to activate it in Word 2010; a detailed video for Word 2010 is in preparation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGUGegrRGqc [a

Using the Toolkit
These videos are done with Windows XP and Word 2003, but the procedures are very similar for Windows7 with Word 2007/2010, so users with later software should still be able to use these tutorials.

5. Starting a fresh script with MS Word 2003/XP http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVzHU5_HPwU

6. Continuing your script, scene changes etc. with MS Word 2003/XP http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTTBCORBDxY

Bill.

Top man Bill :)

I haven't yet edited the install tutorial video for Word 2010, but the only really significant difference from the Word 2007 one, is that the Word Options menu item is on the File menu instead of a big Office Button.

I really must finish editing that Word 2010 tutorial video some time...

To celebrate the final abandonment by the BBC of that awful Scriptsmart system, I finally completed editing the tutorial videos for installing and using the Scriptwriters' Toolkit template set with the latest Microsoft Word, i.e. Word 2010 or Office 2010.

The complete set of videos can be seen at: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLA224B022DE6F0764
and the list is on my Support site at: http://www.datahighways.net/support/topic.asp?topic_id=330&forum_id=25

So there's no excuse for wasting your time with Scriptsmart any more, unless you use Microsoft Word on an Apple Mac.

For those of you who have actually watched all the tutorial videos so far, the two new ones are:

6. Activating the Scriptwriters' Toolkit on Microsoft Word 2010 (office 2010). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzoMUFue4tg

7. Begin using the Scriptwriters' Toolkit on Microsoft Word 2010 (office 2010). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7pOJgvRFwU

And if any of you have not previously known about the Scriptwriters' Toolkit and have been wasting your time trying yourself to format scripts properly in a naked version of Microsoft Word, please watch these two videos to show you just how easy it can be to get all the formatting done for you. Please note that the end result is a script perfectly formatted in Microsoft Word format as if done by a really expert user who know everything they could about paragraph styles, margins and fonts and had done many months of research on knowing the correct script formats.

Using the Toolkit
These two tutorial videos are done with Windows XP and Word 2003, but the procedures are very similar for Word 2007/2010, so users with later software are able to use these tutorials, after watching the relevant installation videos for Word 2010 or Word 2007

U1. Starting a fresh script with MS Word 2003/XP http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVzHU5_HPwU

U2. Continuing your script, scene changes etc. with MS Word 2003/XP http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTTBCORBDxY

Have fun.

If the complimentary copy referred to in the root message above has timed out, please ask me for a complimentary copy of the toolkit for BCG members.

Incidentally the new Windows LIVE Movie Maker is pathetic, it has been dumbed down so that now it can't do much more than chop the lead and trail off a phone-recorded video and add music through-out.

Any one who wants to do any serious video editing at low cost should go get Windows Movie Maker version 2.6 from the Microsoft Website, before they drop it. It was produced for Vista, but works fine on Windows 7. I haven't tried it back on Windows XP, but the earlier version 2.1 (?) originally ran on Windows XP in any case.

Download v 2.6 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=34

The complimentary copy referred to in the root message above has timed out yet again, so if you want a copy, please PM me (and include your real-world email address) to ask me for a complimentary copy of the toolkit for BCG members.

I'll send it (or instructions on how to get it from my website) direct to your email.

I don't think I will extend the time-out on the above serial number any more, because I think the time-outs are caused by non-BCG-members.

When non-BCG-members do a Google for the Scriptwriters' Toolkit, they see this thread (because BCG is a popular public forum) so they then go nick a freebie copy using that serial number above even though they contribute nothing to the BCG site.

So requiring a Private Message on BCG does ensure that the complimentary copies go only to those who have registered on BCG.

Of course, if you find you like my Scriptwriters' Toolkit, you can always go pay a support-admin fee ( around £13) at my website and have your very own serial number and thanks from me.
