"certain sitcoms" - what?

Quote: Marc P @ July 27 2009, 4:54 PM BST

Yeah but any thread with the word apotheosis and no mention of certain sitcoms has got to be good thing. :)

Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.

No mention I said.

Quote: David Bussell @ July 27 2009, 4:56 PM BST

Just to clarify, I only verbally passed on to Matt what we discussed by PM. Knowing how forthright you are I felt you wouldn't mind your criticisms finding their way to the recipient. Certainly you've mentioned how important you feel honesty is in these matters.

I don't mind at all, David. Although you did tell me that the PM was in strict confidence. Obviously it wasn't.

But something has clearly been lost in translation, as I certainly didn't 'badmouth', Matthew.

That would suggest something a little more unkind than what was actually said.

This is now getting as tedious as a new comedy vehicle for Lenny Henry.

Ah. 'apotheosis' is a pun on 'Susan Nickson'. Brilliant.

That's only sort of true, Don. You made your criticisms clear without any such promise from me. Only at the end of my last email to you did I volunteer that I wouldn't be passing on your feelings to Matt as I felt uncomfortable that we'd been talking about him without his knowledge in the first place. Later I decided it would be worse if I said nothing to him at all and divulged.

What I told him was nothing that you didn't write. I certainly didn't make any claim that you'd 'badmouthed' him, which I can only assume is a bad choice of words on Matt's part. Your criticisms were based on his writing and nothing more, and this much I told him.

I kind of guessed as much but searching the Board for 'apotheosis' revealed nothing. The thread has clearly been deleted.

(Interestingly, (for the libel lawyers) titles of deleted threads still show up on a search!)

Okay, it's all now in the past, as far as I am concerned.

:)

For the record: I like the two of you. You seem like a very nice couple. :)

Just to tip my toe in the water, if you like...

My initial post was actually very apologetic. Admittedly, I then began throwing toys out of the pram, but I'm certainly not the first on here to do that.

I like to play devil's advocate, that's all. I'm not interested in being a bland 'Yes Man'.

I've been very positive about certain people on this site, and their work. But, of course, these comments are conveniently forgotten about when people THOROUGHLY ENJOY painting me as the villain.

For anyone that thinks I'm an attention seeker, I believe I have only ever started three threads on this site - and that includes this one. I don't class that as attention seeking. But believe what you like.

For anyone that thinks this is an attention seeking post - I am just defending my corner.

:)

I think Don is getting a bit of a rough ride on this thread to be honest.

Let's forget it?

I personally have nothing bad to say about Don, and he has gave me some good advice in the past.

The Simon Cowell of the BCG if you like...

Im not getting into a debate with anybody about my comment, as it only leads me into trouble.

(New leaf)

:)

The classic Don triple punch!

1) Reasoned response
2) insult/personal sleight
3) patronising smiley face

And you really don't see why people might consider you an insufferable douche drizzle? :)

For the love of God, somebody please close this thread!

This is now getting as tedious as a new comedy vehicle for Lenny Henry.

While many learned professors have abandoned hope of ever discovering the truth behind a new comedy vehicle for Lenny Henry, I for one feel that it is still a worthy cause for examination. An in depth analysis of a new comedy vehicle for Lenny Henry can be an enriching experience. With the primary aim of demonstrating my considerable intellect I will now demonstrate the complexity of the many faceted issue that is a new comedy vehicle for Lenny Henry. Society says that every man must find their own truth. While one sees a new comedy vehicle for Lenny Henry, another may see an advert for Premier Inns.

A new comedy vehicle for Lenny Henry deserves all the attention it gets. It sings a new song and it brings the best out in people.

Aren't you supposed to be a comedy writer, David?

Where's the witty retort? Is 'insufferable douche drizzle' really the best you can do?

I doubt there's a job waiting for you in comedy, lover boy.
