If I want everything sugar-coated, I'll f**k off to Disneyland. :)

Oh Don - Please don't f**k off to Disneyland!!

Defining who was deemed successful enough would lead to a BCG 100 years war in itself!

A minor flaw :)

If you're getting a lot out of the Critique secion then I'm obviously wrong, and apologise.

I don't see it as a long term thing, but as a tool to provide me with the initial confidence to dedicate a lot of my time to something I may be crap at it is pretty valuable.

Yeah, he's always in Critique putting the boot in. Only today he's had a go at someone's sitcom.

Jesus! I just read this. What a complete load of f**king rubbish! For f**k's sake, what is this, GCSE f**king sitcom writing? God, this actually makes me angry. Thinking you can teach sitcom writing in the same way that they used to think you teach kids how to write poetry by following logical linguistic and structural rules. They're drowning in a sea of their own infected piss and they don't even realise it.

A c**ting disgrace! Angry

Is Tim Dawson the person who wrote Coming of Age?

You wouldn't credit it, but sometimes people on this website pretend to be successful industry players when they're actually no such thing at all! What larks.

What bastards!

It gives people like me - that really do work in 'the biz' - a bad name.

I personally wouldn't put anything up that I thought had any future potential. Once an idea is out in the ether its almost impossible to lay claim to it. This isn't me saying 'Oh yea I don't want none a you plagiarising bitches to steal my stuff', just sometimes one idea leads to another unconsciously (cryptomnesia). Most of the ideas in critique fail from the offset because the idea isn't even funny, but I wouldn't go on and tell the person because how do you make a constructive criticism when you feel they haven't even understood the concept of being funny/amusing/humourous? This is why Don Rushmore might have seemed harsh but gave an honest opinion when things were fundamentally flawed. I think it should be used for a laugh, I can't see anything going from BCG critique to television so be playful with it (see inbetweenies in critique;). Or people could just use it to refine their technique e.g. where they have over egged the pudding, not written things in an easily readable fashion etc (which in some cases is how some people already treat it).

Yes that's the one, he is going to be mentoring and giving a lecture at the comedy college too apparently.
