Other apes don't have big boobs, so it's clear that the ability to provide milk does not play a part in their function. Therefore their distinctive shape must be for sexual display.
So why are men attracted to them? It could be for no reason, other than men just are; but their is a school of thought which suggests they look like that, to resemble other things, like buttocks.

I disagree strongly. In Western countries, women may be more likely to dream of having a svelte figure (less weight, smaller bum) rather than huge funbags. In Asia, the dream attribute tends to be a pretty face, although breast enhancement surgery is on the rise - but only among the shallow rich, porn stars and wannabe celebrities.
