When tonight is over... Page 3

I had a really simple line at one point and I buggered it up. Unimpressed "Ain't she pretty" was what I had to say and I couldn't bloody remember it. Dave even prompted me by saying "Don't you think she's pretty?" but by that point panic had stuck and I was doomed.

Sometimes I have dreams that I've traveled back in time and am back onstage in school and university plays - and I can't remember my lines! So I ad-lib. And like Badge said, most in the audience won't know the text, so even if you f**k up, you'll get away with it as long as you stay in character.

I'm just glad I'm not doing a performance tonight. However, Mon, Tue and Wed are a different matter. The amount of times the others improvised, I don't know why I didn't. Unimpressed

Yeah, my aunt's not that pleased. I have to return the flat to her in it's original state next year, unless she likes it so who knows...

What exactly is the point in decorating it then? Was it a total shit hole with grimy walls, bare-plaster and cracked flooring?

One line? Pfff. When you're out there performing in any genre you're already doing stuff most wouldn't contemplate. I saw the best cornet player in the world dry up on stage in the Albert Hall no less. But he was still the best in the world afterwards. Most people who perform regularly mess up some time. I heard Loudon Wainwright dry up on live radio just last week.Put it down to experience and don't fixate. Otherwise next time you'll get that line right and then f**k up everything else. :) Just joking. You'll be fine.

Exactly. It's not the nicest place in the world. Nice carpet though. :)

If I mess up, I mess up. :)

Just to let you know, if you're interested (which you probably aren't), my performance tonight was spot on. Not a mistake in sight.

Well done Robeddy!

Robeddy = Robert D.

Well done you big thespian!

Did the audience go wild with young chick flinging their knickers at you?

More importantly, did you get paid?

I put it down to my inspirational talk and all the drugs you're taking.

Yes, are you a performance artist? Oh, he isn't here...oh well, I'll post it anyway.

The audience went as wild as could be expected but there was no knickers. :(
