Where does your name come from?

We have lots of unusual names on this fine forum. Renegade Carpark, Leevil but what do they all mean?

To start the ball rolling.

Sootyj was my old work e-mail kinda. E.g. it was the first 5 letters of your surname followed by your initial.

So I was Soetej@....

I thought it sounded cool, but like a savoury rapper. Salty J or some such thing.

I am really boring... first name Ellie... and my surname is double barrelled with the initials J and P. :(

Same really: surname followed by first initial.

Dan

My dad.

Mine came from when my dad got so drunk during my birth he wrote his own name on the birth certificate thinking he was signing for a package. I got dodged a bullet though, I was meant to be Barnaby. Barnaby Bussell.

Barnaby Bussell.

Sounds like a childrens entertainer. The kind that touches them when the Mums aren't looking.

Oh I dunno send a script with that name to Hollywood and they'll assume your a much loved sitcom starring Phil Silvers on a boat.

True story though?

Mine is actually an anagram of my real name, Satthew Mtott.

I've mentioned this before, but I was named after the Andrea Doria, the luxury cruise ship that sank in the 1950s. Luckily, Mom and Dad went for Lynne instead of Doria. Phew!

True story though?

It actually is. I only found out the truth a few years back. Previously I'd been told that my name was part of a family tradition that dictated the first son be named after the father.

Of course, I'd quite forgotten you were born in the Congo.

You dodged the bullet on Titanic then!

You dodged the bullet on Titanic then!

Yes, thank goodness. My sister was named after Olivia Newton-John! I'm very lucky. :)

My first name shortened for those old games when you could only get three letters on the scoreboard. The second part is what some people call me (the others call me c**t) and is a play on my surname.

Mine is my real names backwards, Mit Recklaw
