In that photo there's a Martian tadpole almost in the centre. 
And that NASA guy talking about it being like pioneer days, well, at least the early North American pioneers were going to a place that was habitable... barely.

I'd volunteer; but apart from needing a very heavy lift rocket, I'd just convince alien life forms human being were c**ts and not very funny.
