Favourite bands/artists of all-time Page 8

Emerson Lake and Palmer. Their albums are amazingly eclectic. From honky tonk to classical.

My top 3: Necrophagist, Nile and Cryptopsy (before this latest album anyway).

Any other death metal fans on here?

Let's see. Here's a few to be getting on with:

New Order
Joy Division
The Fall
Siouxsie and the Banshees
Kraftwerk
Blur
Neil Young
Super Furry Animals
Chemical Brothers
The Pixies
Frank Black
Modest Mouse
Pulp
Happy Mondays
Hot Chip
Manic Street Preachers
Primal Scream
Talking Heads
LCD Soundsystem
Air
Echo and the Bunnymen
The Cure (until I was about 21)

LOL!
Something you don't expect to find on a sitcom board.

Necrophagist is nice. Nile was good as well, but I did not like the last record or two too much. I love some of the early death metal (Human from Death, Clandestine from Entombed), some very early melodeath as well (first albums by Dark Tranquillity, some Edge of Sanity), but overall I'm not the biggest fan of the genre.

My top 21 would be:

The Beatles

*abyss-like gap*

Dream Theater
The Tea Party
Opeth
Blind Guardian
Uriah Heep
Symphony X
Rainbow
Black Sabbath
Jethro Tull
---
Helloween / Gamma Ray
Iron Maiden / Bruce Dickinson
Rush
Savatage
Dead Can Dance
Emperor
Enslaved
King Diamond / Mercyful Fate
Nightwish
Skyclad
WASP

and Skyforger and Neglected Fields as honorouble mentions :)

Whenever I think of the B52s' 'Love Shack', I always remember one day, when a relative, whom I hadn't seen for years, and never liked anyway, knocked at my door, and I hid from him, hoping he'd think I was out.

Is this a new record? Seven commas in one sentence? :)

MAN#1: My favourite track of all time is "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad"

MAN#2: Meatloaf?

MAN#1: No, Emerson, Lake and what's-his-name.

Oh yes. And them. Although Jim Davidson is also a big fan.

It's probably because they haven't done anything decent for years. I saw them at Finsbury Park a few years ago supporting New Order. Forgot they were still going to be honest. This is where my girlfriend would normally say she thought they were dead but she thinks that if she doesn't see someone on the TV for a month.

It was just a senior lapse on my part. I've seen them twice and have nearly all their stuff. Absolutely brilliant band.

The Slaggs like:

David Bowie - we sing these (Life on Mars, Kooks) on the late night trips back home
The Kinks
Fugazi - Best band I ever saw live
Smashing Pumpkins
The Pixies
Eels
Sex Pistols
Nine Inch Nails
Zwan
Boys Against Girls

These are ones we'd agree on, my own personal choices include all the above, plus.

Unfortunately, 'Love Shack' was blasting out of the radio, and I couldn't get across the room to turn it down. He eventually walked away, but I think he knew I was hiding.

B52s' 'Planet Claire' was the first CD I ever bought. :$

If you like Architecture in Helsinki, you'll like The Apples in Stereo. Pleased

Ooh! I will have to take a listen. Pleased

B52's are one of the worst things to come out of the 1960's. Only the Moors Murders could match them in 1960's crimes.

I've always been a fan of the stranglers with hugh cornwell. When hugh left and came out with his solo stuff,i only then realized how much of him went into the stranglers that I liked so much.so,i am now a fan of hugh cornwell and his solo stuff.
