It's very much a concept album - reminiscent of seventies' Prog concepts. A doomed planet in a far off galaxy ...
In a seventy minute album there's only about ten minutes of 'singing' and no lyric is really discernable. The music is great!

Speaking of concept albums, what are eveyone's favourites? Mine has to be a 1993 album called 'Tricks of the Shade', by a group called The Goats. The songs on the album are quite political, and each one is followed by an interlude/episode of an ongoing story, in which the group play various characters, who find themselves wandering around a Freak Show, which is meant to represent America. These interludes contain all sorts of references to people/issues that were in the news back then.

Someone has uploaded all of thse interludes onto YouTube, and here they are, if anyone's interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkZLQkS8Vbk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vM_BFRFSyMo

My favourite Who album is a 'concept' album - 'The Who Sell Out'.
In my view it is their masterpiece. To be followed by the overblown bombast of 'Tommy'.
