Perhaps you just have rather narrow musical horizons? Unimpressed

No, I used to DJ in college and we made up names all the time, my most favourite of mine was The Mormon Dancehall Jaugernaut. :P :P

Don't know what you're laughing about, young lady, they were a great band. I've got a prestine condition copy of their first album, 'Da Bitch Love Quaker Transit Sound'.

That must not have been on the album I played...

I like Ladyramblers though.

They've just released a new 'Best Of..." album. It features re-masters of 'Big Brown Plate', 'Didn't You Say You Were Putting The Kettle On? (Missing You)', 'I Corroded All Life's Batteries', 'Slave To A Hunch', 'Song For Frozen Lovers', 'I'm Not Buying, Buying, Buying (No Souvenir Plates)', 'Love Don't Line Dance', 'Pancakes, Perception, Pain', 'Maureen Lipman's My Driver Now, Girl' and 'Fancy Shoes (Don't Scuff Your...)'. Plus a "Live At The Harvester" (Shepton Mallet) set which includes 'I Never Said She Didn't Taste Of Menthol', 'Lazy Days And Car Boot Sales', 'Lim (Part 3)', 'You'll Look Behind That Fridge Someday', 'Spanky Carnival Float', 'Put Your Yeast In My Soul', 'Bent Gymnasium Blues', 'Faded Jaded Arthritic Knee Don't Lie!', 'Unstick My Spleen', 'Killing Me With Your Suet', 'Moonlight Fraticide', 'If I Was An Auctioneer (And You Were My Cleaner), 'Calling All The Minicabs (Expired Licence Dub'98)', 'Thigh To Thigh To Thigh Tonight', 'Never Give It Up, What, OK If You Must', 'Baa Baa Baa Baa Baa Baa Baa Baa Baa Baa Baa Barabus Jones'. 'You're My Sloppy Cheesecake', 'Unchained Woman Garden' and 'Wanking Through The Tears'.

...and many more. Some classics there. lol.

Wave

:P

Just Googled them. You must be very proud.
And the album features the tracks...

1) Wake Of Syr
2) The Epillanic Choragi
3) Entases Of Azure
4) Seeking Beyond
5) Milachis Depths
6) Aciculaccolith
7) Elico Moieties
8) Porphyrachis
9) Epinolitholatyr
10) Wake Of Syr II

Now that's what I call a proper track list! :)

Tim's replying to my post plugging my son's band. I had second thoughts about plugging them and deleted the post!

'No Made Sense'. You can find their album, 'The Epillanic Choragi', in the metal section of any HMV. As you can see above, they have upstaged Tim in the weird name/song titles stakes.

And (comedy connection) my other son is in a band with Jimmy Carr's brother.

Thank God, I thought he'd finally lost it.

I'm just throwing this out there, off the top of my head, but going by the album and track titles, is this in any way a "concept" album?

It's very much a concept album - reminiscent of seventies' Prog concepts. A doomed planet in a far off galaxy ...
In a seventy minute album there's only about ten minutes of 'singing' and no lyric is really discernable. The music is great!

A short list in no order:

Texas (and Sharleen Spiteri's solo album)
Delays
We Are Scientists
The Kinks
The Police (and Sting's solo stuff too)
Fiction Plane (Sting's son's band)
Maximo Park
Bloc Party
And the theme music to the snooker before it got changed to the new titles with a white horse and black bull.
