We have these days at work where we are forced to sit around for a few hours analysing crap, discussing more crap, character workshops, taking scenes apart word for word for word and discussing how they came about blah, blah, blah, and tons and tons of other really, really boring, wake me up when were finished CRAP!
I do anything I can to get out of this, feign serious illness, cry, beg…
And people actually pay to go on writing courses ????

There is no right or wrong way in the world of writing. It's all about what the writer feels is best for them, not anyone else. Just because Larry David and David Croft says its a waste of time and money doesn't mean it actually is, that is just their opinion. An opinion I don't share.
Ive met both Larry and David Croft and like/respect them both immensly, but it really is each to their own when it comes to courses. Some find it helpful, others don't.
