I had an opportunity to study literature for an entire summer at Oxford and turned it down because my parents didn't want me to fly. I would have had two hours of classes a day and tons of free time. I imagine if I'd done it I'd be living in England somewhere and writing my 4th or 5th novel by now.

Ironically, during the graduation ceremony the Vice Chancellor decided to pause and ask me "What are you going to do with your government degree? Go into government?" To which I shrugged and mumbled, "Dunno...maybe." Make no mistake, I've got the gift of the gab.
