I never got Frank Sidebottom. I mean I "got" the idea, he just never made me laugh. Same with John Shuttleworth.

Sidebottom - it sounds like a girl part you wished they had.

And that, my sexpest friend, is mock-free. :)

Agreed.

There's a very good chapter about Frank and his various escapades, trials and tribulations in Jon Ronson's book What I Do... Tales Of Everyday Madness.

A favourite story is about Chris Evans driving them in a van through central London. As they stopped at a set of traffic lights, Chris wound down the window and got the driver of the car next to them to do the same...

EVANS: Is this London?
DRIVER: Yes.
EVANS: Well where do you want the bricks?

Tickles me, that, strangely.

On both sides?

*sighs* There's just never enough holes to be truly happy. :(

I was TV when I was fifteen, played a football final live on Eurosport.

Ten Thousand people in the crowd, was amazing.

I got to life the trophy as we beat the U15 Ukranian national side 3-0 and I was captain.

Nice one. :)

That's pretty cool Darren! :O!

Cheers. It was a good time in my life, I got to travel lots and could have made a career out of it but the pull of drinking and sex with random strangers was to much for me.

I kick myself everyday!

You are waaaaay too cool for this site, Darren! You're like our very own 'The Fonz!.

Anyway, I though professional football was a way into drinking and random sex?

Maybe Darren's just an overacheiver?

I know, I know.

I just wish I was 'cool', that's all. It would make things so much easier.

I wonder what it's like to be really bloody good. Anybody know?
