Growing Old Together?

I signed up to BCG (formally BSG) in February 2007. That's 2 years and 5 months I've known some people on here. There were others before me, who have been here longer.

I've no intention of leaving this forum anytime soon (sorry). I have no idea when I will stop. It's probably a case of whoever dies first.

What's going to happen in another two and a half years? Births, deaths, marriages?

How big will the BCG database become? Will it change it's name to Skynet? Is Aaron going to be crushed by his own DVD collection? Whose gonna make it in the writer's section? Will Robyn be a guitar hero?

I've not even met anyone on here, but I know more about some of you, then I know about the real people I'm friends with. Yes, real people.

Not to sound like a potential employer; But where do you see yourself in 2 years time? Still on here or slagging this place off on the mighty Chortle, that won The Comedy Web Site Wars of 2010. :( R.I.P chipolata... <3

OK, I'm off to plan my 4 years celebratory sandwich feast.

Wave Hello to me in the future. If you've not finished a sitcom script yet. Shoot yourself (I left a gun in the bedside draw).

Visitor figures suggest the exact opposite. ;)

BCG SMASH!

\o/ That's the spirit.

Ooh, I don't know... in a few years I will either...

a) be an established comedy writer who has become massively rich through selling my sitcom's overseas rights to morons, thus allowing me to live in a high-walled house, eating Marmite sandwiches all day and having my own production staff - one of whom's sole responsibility will be changing my nappies. I shall buy the BCG and therefore own all rights to the fetid souls of sootyj and Bussell. I shall put Seefacts in charge of the Writers' section.

b) will relapse, completely lose it, "go postal", taking out a major slice of the comedy world, before finally blowing my brains out in the very cellar I have been holding the Chuckle Brothers prisoner for 2 years.

c) be homeless, mentally unstable, deluding myself that I am in fact doing "method writing" for my new hilariously dark sitcom about soup kitchens and scabies, shouting out tips on script-formatting at passers-by and "newbie" rodents.

d) stuck here, same as always, slagging off series 10 of 'Coming Of Age', I suppose...

I look forward to any one of them, Tim.

*waits*

I dunno where I will be. I've always planned to be a doctor, but I'm also interested in writing and acting. Perhaps I will be a bit of both and get cast as The Doctor in series 32 of Doctor Who.

But seriously, university is on the cards as is a career in medicine but I will, as long as I don't get banned, be around here for some time to come. I hope.

I joined just a month after Leevil... and was living in Australia at the time, logging on in the early hours of the morning.

I've met about 20 of you, and hopefully will meet many more.

I look forward to the first BCG wedding... not the first BCG death.

I expect the time spent on here will change when a) I finally make it into comedy artist management b) move in with the boyfriend. Until either of those two become a possibility, I'll probably be here for a while.

R.I.P chipolata...

:O Do you know something about my health I don't!

I can only envisage Aaron and Mark moving on to better (and better paid) things, so this site will remain a labour of love until they eventually become preoccupied with successful careers and raising kids - and grow weary of this site. Or perhaps not.

Why put the writer's section in the hands of someone who's been rotting in a shallow grave at the bottom of your garden?

Will Robyn be a guitar hero?

No.

As I have said before, I take great satisfaction in knowing that most on here will fail miserably in their attempts at breaking into 'the biz'.

But having said that, there are a few people on The BCG that I genuinely hope are successful. These include:

Dolly Dagger (my favourite person here), Tim W, Marc P, David Bussell and SlagA.

:)

But Teary you were going to make me a star!

Normally I'd be sad not to be included in a list...
