The very worst pub in the world ever and the best Page 4

It's not the best pub, but I do enjoy going to Stoke Bruerne's - The Boat Inn. They serve my favourite cider Thatchers Somerset Cider on tap. I'm there most Sundays. See you there Wave

Best local pub I know is the Bluebell in Yarm

Looks good Lee. Can you hear traffic in that garden. It looks like you can't. Which is good, I like it when you can't hear civilisation.

That looks wonderful. I'd like to live next door.

I remenber the Leather Bottle. It wasn't bad but which day are you talking about?

Very late 1980s/early 1990s before they gutted it and turned it into a Barras pub. You could go in there, know everyone, get the occasional lock-in, have all the fun of trying to work out which was your black leather jacket in the pile at the end of the evening and the Road Rats tended to stomp on any trouble before it started so that the police wouldn't turn up and find their guns and heroin.

I swear that one night I was about the only person not dealing drugs there and everyone else was just swapping to try different flavours.

Probably the Surrey Tavern or was it St Helier Arms - before it got closed down when those bodies were found in the car boot.

I lived down the road from those two. Right pair of shithole pubs they were. I think it was the Surrey Tavern where they found the body. That was the little one by the housing estate, the St. Helier Arms was further up by the park.

They pulled it down and built some houses on it. Yes - that probably was the worst pub. Loveable rogues eh?

You've been to France then?

LOL. But no.

Ha, how very peculiar.

The Good Mixer in Camden used to be good in the 90s. Really good jukebox, regulars included Shane McGowan, Blur, members of The Buzzcocks. I was pestered by a drunken Noel Gallagher there. It also had lock-ins. But now it's a crummy touristy pub.

We have no good pubs/bars where I live. They've all been overrun with townies, carnies, and hillbillies. However, I have just come up with the title for Cher's next comeback song.

Kennedy's on Columbus in San Francisco.

A bazillion flavours of lager, free beers in happy hour, three pool tables, the best Indian grub in the city, foosball, a smokers' patio and an old Area 51 machine that I could beat on two quarters.

If it hadn't been two bus rides away I would have lived in that place.
