On a related point, Dr Tim has had to reassure his mother yet again that she's not got swine flu. Unless I'm very wrong, she is getting it on a weekly basis. The other day she had accidentally banged her head and I had to reassure her that the resultant headache and giddiness was not due to swine flu. Bless my lovely hypochondriac Mum.

(Not sure about the vaccination programme they're proposing, as it most likely will be useless for any significant seasonal mutation in the viral load strain.)

I have a father who will not see doctors despite ripping half his ear off, being very fair and having a huge lumpy mole on his head, spraining his ankle, cutting his hand open, having a huge purple rasho over his back and breaking his finger and setting it himself (it's now permentantly bent).

He knows a bit of anatonomy and believes he can fix himself.
